1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Jaculus Technologies Pvt Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects information when you use the CapCutOff.com service ("Service"). CapCutOff.com is a college admission prediction platform for Maharashtra professional courses and related CAP admission rounds. It helps students, parents, and counselors receive predicted college lists based on merit score or percentile, category, reservation, and other admission criteria entered on their score card. The college prediction system is a paid feature available only after registration and an active subscription. By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

This Privacy Policy describes how CapCutOff.com and its affiliates (collectively "JACULUS TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, we, our, us") collect, use, share, protect or otherwise process your information/ personal data through our website https://capcutoff.com/ (referred to as Platform). Pages such as Home, Pricing, How It Works, Contact Us, Terms of Use, and this Privacy Policy are publicly accessible and may be viewed without creating an account. We do not offer any product/service under this Platform outside India and your personal data will primarily be stored and processed in India. By visiting this Platform, providing your information or availing any product/service offered on the Platform, you expressly agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use and the applicable service/product terms and conditions, and agree to be governed by the laws of India including but not limited to the laws applicable to data protection and privacy. If you do not agree please do not use or access our Platform.

To use the college prediction system, you must enter your mobile number, verify it with OTP, complete registration, subscribe to our course-based plan (₹199–₹499 incl. 18% GST for 30 days depending on course), and complete payment through PhonePe. Access to unlimited predictions within your active plan subscription validity on your own score card is enabled only after successful registration and payment. Each account is linked to one score card. After you save your name and merit score or percentile for the first time, those fields become locked and cannot be edited. You may continue to update category, reservation, and other admission details for predictions on that same score card.

Important Notice — Cut-off Data & Predictions

CapCutOff.com is an independent admission guidance platform and is not affiliated with, not endorsed by, and not operated by the Government of Maharashtra, the State Common Entrance Test Cell, and any other government authority.

We do not provide complete historical cut-off datasets or official admission records as a standalone service. Our prediction system uses historical admission information compiled from publicly available sources, including officially published cut-off lists, admission notices, and other public records, together with our own analysis and prediction algorithms.

All prediction results are estimates provided for informational purposes only. They do not guarantee admission, seat allotment, or CAP round outcomes. Students should always rely on the official counselling process and official publications issued by the competent authority. The official admission process, seat allotment, and final cut-off decisions are determined solely by the competent admission authority.

3. Information we collect

We collect your personal data when you use our Platform, services or otherwise interact with us during the course of our relationship and related information provided from time to time. Browsing public pages generally does not require you to share personal data. We begin collecting account, payment, and admission profile information when you sign in with your mobile number, register, subscribe to a paid plan, or use the college prediction system. Some of the information that we may collect includes but is not limited to:

  • Account information: name, mobile number, email address, state, and profile details provided during registration or account setup.
  • Authentication data: one-time passwords (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number and session identifiers used to verify your login.
  • Admission & merit profile data: selected course, entrance exam score (NEET UG, MHT-CET, MAH-MBA/MMS-CET, MH CET Law, etc.), (such as L.L.B., BBA, or B.E./B.Tech), merit score or percentile or rank, student name, category, reservation type, gender, domicile/state preferences, disability status (if applicable), and other details you enter to generate college predictions. Once saved, your name and merit score or percentile are stored as locked fields on your score card; other non-locked details may be updated later.
  • Cut-off & prediction usage data: colleges searched, filters applied, CAP rounds viewed, saved or shortlisted colleges, prediction requests, comparison history, and related preferences you choose on the Platform.
  • Public-domain cut-off reference data: College names and previous year cut-off information used for prediction are sourced from data that is publicly available in the public domain (such as official admission publications and published merit/cut-off records). We do not use unauthorized data. This information is not republished or provided to users as cut-off lists or downloadable records on the Website. It is compiled and used internally only to generate prediction results for subscribed users.
  • Payment & billing: course-based 30-day subscription (₹199–₹499 incl. 18% GST depending on course), subscription status, validity period, invoices, and transaction IDs from PhonePe when you purchase access to the college prediction system. We do not store your full payment instrument details — PhonePe handles payment processing. Plan details are listed on https://capcutoff.com/pricing.
  • Usage & technical data: IP addresses, device/browser type, logs, crash reports and analytics for security and performance.
  • Personal data during registration: name, state name, telephone/mobile number, email ID and/or any such information shared as proof of identity or address.
  • Sensitive personal data: category, reservation, disability, or other admission-related information you provide for cut-off search and college prediction, as well as payment instrument details processed by our payment partner when you subscribe, all collected with your consent and in accordance with applicable law(s).
  • Counselor or institute access data: If you use multi-user or institute features, information about authorized users you add, including their contact details and access permissions.
  • Behaviour and preferences: We may track your behaviour, preferences, and other information that you choose to provide on our Platform. This information is compiled and analysed on an aggregated basis.
  • Transaction information: We will also collect your information related to your transactions on Platform and such third-party business partner platforms. When such a third-party business partner collects your personal data directly from you, you will be governed by their privacy policies.
  • Security notice: If you receive an email, a call from a person/association claiming to be CapCutOff.com seeking any personal data like debit/credit card PIN, net-banking or mobile banking password, we request you to never provide such information. If you have already revealed such information, report it immediately to an appropriate law enforcement agency.

You always have the option to not provide information, by choosing not to use a particular service or feature on the Platform. We shall not be responsible for the third-party business partner's privacy practices or the content of their privacy policies, and we request you to read their privacy policies prior to disclosing any information.

4. How we use information

We use collected information to operate and improve the Service, authenticate users, verify paid subscription access, generate college admission predictions for subscribed users, process payments through PhonePe, send service notifications, enable saved prediction results and shortlists, and comply with legal obligations. Predictions are generated internally using the merit and category details you provide together with publicly available college names and cut-off information from the public domain; we do not use unauthorized data. Results are not fully accurate, indicative only, and do not guarantee admission.

  • We use personal data to provide unlimited college predictions within your active plan subscription validity on your own locked score card. Without a valid subscription, prediction features remain unavailable even if you have registered. To the extent we use your personal data to market to you, we will provide you the ability to opt-out of such uses.
  • We use admission profile and usage data to show relevant colleges, rank likely options by round, improve prediction accuracy over time, and help you plan CAP round choices.
  • We use your personal data to enhance customer experience; to resolve disputes; troubleshoot problems; inform you about online and offline offers, products, services, and updates; customise your experience; detect and protect us against error, fraud and other criminal activity; enforce our terms and conditions; conduct marketing research, analysis and surveys; and as otherwise described to you at the time of collection of information.
  • You understand that your access to these products/services may be affected in the event permission is not provided to us.
5. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell or trade personal data. We may share information with:

  • PhonePe — to process subscription payments;
  • Authorized institute or counselor users who have been granted access to your account or workspace, where applicable;
  • Service providers (hosting, analytics, backups, data processing) who are contractually bound to protect data;
  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by law.
  • We may share your personal data internally within our group entities, our other corporate entities, and affiliates to provide you access to the services and products offered by them. These entities and affiliates may market to you as a result of such sharing unless you explicitly opt-out.
  • We may disclose personal data to third parties such as sellers, business partners, third party service providers including logistics partners, prepaid payment instrument issuers, third-party reward programs and other payment opted by you. These disclosure may be required for us to provide you access to our services and products offered to you, to comply with our legal obligations, to enforce our user agreement, to facilitate our marketing and advertising activities, to prevent, detect, mitigate, and investigate fraudulent or illegal activities related to our services.
  • We may disclose personal and sensitive personal data to government agencies or other authorised law enforcement agencies if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process.
  • We may disclose personal data to law enforcement offices, third party rights owners, or others in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: enforce our Terms of Use or Privacy Policy; respond to claims that an advertisement, posting or other content violates the rights of a third party; or protect the rights, property or personal safety of our users or the general public.
6. Data retention

We retain data while your account is active and for a limited time afterward to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. If you delete your account we will delete or anonymize personal data in accordance with our retention policy. Saved searches, shortlists, and prediction history linked to a paid subscription will be retained for the duration of your active plan and may be deleted when your subscription ends or upon account closure, subject to legal retention requirements. Payment and billing records may be retained as required for tax, audit, and dispute resolution purposes.

  • You have an option to delete your account by visiting your profile and settings on our Platform, this action would result in you losing all information related to your account. You may also write to us at the contact information provided below to assist you with these requests.
  • We may in event of any pending grievance, claims, pending shipments or any other services we may refuse or delay deletion of the account. Once the account is deleted, you will lose access to the account.
  • We retain your personal data information for a period no longer than is required for the purpose for which it was collected or as required under any applicable law. However, we may retain data related to you if we believe it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse or for other legitimate purposes.
  • We may continue to retain your data in anonymised form for analytical and research purposes.
7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards (HTTPS, role-based access controls, encrypted backups) to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect a security issue contact us immediately at info@jaculus.in.

  • To protect your personal data from unauthorised access or disclosure, loss or misuse we adopt reasonable security practices and procedures.
  • Once your information is in our possession or whenever you access your account information, we adhere to our security guidelines to protect it against unauthorised access and offer the use of a secure server.
  • However, the transmission of information is not completely secure for reasons beyond our control. By using the Platform, the users accept the security implications of data transmission over the internet and the World Wide Web which cannot always be guaranteed as completely secure, and therefore, there would always remain certain inherent risks regarding use of the Platform.
  • Users are responsible for ensuring the protection of login and password records for their account.
8. Children

Our Service is intended for students, parents, and education counselors participating in college admission processes. Users under 18 years of age should use the Platform only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us immediately.

9. Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to provide and improve the Service, maintain your session, remember your preferences, and understand Platform usage for analytics purposes. You can control cookies via your browser settings but disabling them may reduce functionality.

10. Your rights

You may request access, correction or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent where applicable. Contact: info@jaculus.in.

  • You may access, rectify, and update your personal data directly through the functionalities provided on the Platform.
11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted on https://capcutoff.com/privacy with an updated effective date.

  • Please check our Privacy Policy periodically for changes. We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our information practices.
  • We may alert / notify you about the significant changes to the Privacy Policy, in the manner as may be required under applicable laws.
12. Consent
  • By visiting our Platform or by providing your information, you consent to the collection, use, storage, disclosure and otherwise processing of your information on the Platform in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
  • If you disclose to us any personal data relating to other people, you represent that you have the authority to do so and permit us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
  • You, while providing your personal data over the Platform or any partner platforms or establishments, consent to us (including our other corporate entities, affiliates, lending partners, technology partners, marketing channels, business partners and other third parties) to contact you through SMS, instant messaging apps, call and/or e-mail for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy.
  • You have an option to withdraw your consent that you have already provided by writing to the Grievance Officer at the contact information provided below. Please mention "Withdrawal of consent for processing personal data" in your subject line of your communication.
  • We may verify such requests before acting on our request. However, please note that your withdrawal of consent will not be retrospective and will be in accordance with the Terms of Use, this Privacy Policy, and applicable laws.
  • In the event you withdraw consent given to us under this Privacy Policy, we reserve the right to restrict or deny the provision of our services for which we consider such information to be necessary.
